5 tips to prevent a cow attack

This week in Te Ngahere we have been doing reading.
In my reading group we had to make a google drawing to share  5 tips to prevent a cow attack.
This activity was very fun.
My favourite tip was if you are still walking up a hill and a cow charges at you use your metal hiking stick to protect  yourself.
I think I did well at explaining the tips to prevent a cow attack.
I think I could do better at making the tips more interesting for the reader.
Hopefully you enjoy my poster

Fat foods

In Te Ngahere we have been learning about healthy and unhealthy takeaways.
We learnt about how much fat  is in takeaways. We talked about food like Sushi, Wendy's ,
Subway , KFC and Chinese food.
Sushi had one tsp of fat so that went in the healthy column , and we looked at
KFC  and it had 10 tsp of fat so that went in the unhealthy column.
With this information I will try not to have lots of fatty foods.

Here are some photos

Technology

In Te Ngahere we have been doing technology. My group was AJ and Bella.
It  took us two weeks to make our chip and dip bowl.
We finished our project in week six.
I think I did well at collaborating with my group.
I think next time we could sand our piece of wood better.
Personally I think we did a great job.

Here is an image of our finished project:

Te Ngahere gaming addiction

In Te Ngahere we have been looking at how much gaming is happening in our class.
Our teacher Mr Lindsay created a form for us to answer about gaming.
We discovered that most of the people in our class spend hours gaming.
After we filled out the form we created an info graphic of our gaming results.

My Recount

In Te Ngahere we have been doing writing. I chose to write a  recount called the tree house.
I think I did well at using paragraphs. I need to work on using more detail in my writing.
Anyways, it was a great recount in my opinion.
Here is my recount:

The Tree house
On a windy and sunny day me and my brother started getting bored.
So we told our cousins Trey and Ryder to jump over the fence.
I told them we had to fix up an old 3 storey tree hut.
Then we went to the tree hut.
We climbed really fast up into our wobbly tree hut.

Then we brushed the floor very fast to get all the twigs out of the little holes in the floor.
Then they all fell into the other bush breaking as they fell.
The trees beside us were waving around.
It was like we might fall out of the tree.
I also was tasting the bark from the trees when they were waving in the air.
It also was coming into my eyes.

Then the floor was falling!
I was panicking so I grabbed  onto the fence so I would not fall over.
But I did not fall out of the tree house - it was just windy.
We started to get the top part of the hut fixed up.
So we all went to my aunt's house to pick the waterproof
card for the top of the tree hut to stop the rain from dripping down into  the second part of the hut.
We all started running - it was very funny.

Then we all sped back to the tree house.
We passed bushes and a road.
I heard the cars zooming next to me while I walked across the footpath.
There it was - right in front of me, the 3 storey treehouse.
Then within 3 steps I was inside the tree hut with the waterproof card smacking the trees.
So then my cousins came to put the top of the tree hut to stop the water so it would not drip into the hut.
So my smallest 7 year old cousin Trey went up the top of the hut. Me,  Kayden and Ryder
passed the waterproof card to Trey.
Then Kayden went up into the hut to nail the card into the tree very hard so it would not break.

When the work was done we brought the wooden chairs up so we could all
sit down and have a drink and talk forever.
Then we picked lemons, throw  them around and broke them up.
That was the coolest hut ever that we made.

Technolgy

In Te Ngahere we have been doing some technology.  In my group is Bella and AJ.
We are making a chips and dips tray to sell for camp.
I enjoy sanding the wood because it smooths the wood.
I could do better by  holding the pallet correctly.
Here is our plan for our project

Healthy breakfast

In Te Ngahere we have been learning to eat healthy breakfasts.
If you don’t know what breakfast means, it means to break the fast.
We had traffic light cards that represent, good everyday, sometimes and never.
Bella and I got the Milo cereal. The Milo cereal is the orange light because it failed on the sugar.
There was 36.9 grams of sugar in it but it is meant to be under 10.
It was really interesting to  learn about breakfast and how healthy breakfast is.
In the future if my mum asked me to choose whatever cereal I wanted,
I would probably use this information and think twice about what to get.
I think I did well listening to Whaea Gina but I could do better by understanding the labels.
